De Bab betekent Poort en EL betekent God; samen vormen ze het woord Bab-el, Babel is de benaming voor het oude Babyloni\u00eb; het huidige Irak. Het gebied vanaf Bagdad tot aan de Perzische Golf.<br \/>\nDe Bab verkondigde dat Hij de langverwachte Mahdi was en kondigde de komst aan van nog een Manifestatie.<br \/>\nNet buiten Bagdad (Bab-el) in de Tuin van Ridvan verklaarde Bah\u00e1&#8217;u&#8217;ll\u00e1h dat Hij de Beloofde was.<br \/>\nOp de achtergrond staat een tekst geschreven in spijkerschrift. Om deze te lezen is een vertaalsleutel nodig.
